John Wick Is On A Damn Horse In New Image For Threequel film

A few years back before the first film hit, John Wick was a film many of us (myself included) assumed would be a steaming turd. It had a generic-ass premise, a hit-or-miss lead in Keanu Reeves, and an untested director in Chad Stahelski, who had only really done stunt work up until then. Granted, he had a lot of stunt work experience, but that doesn’t necessarily translate to good films.

We are now two films into this franchise, which will span at least one more film and a TV show called The Continental. It’s an established brand — one that audiences know they can trust for entertaining assassin violence. The third film, John Wick 3: Parabellum, is on its way, and while we’ve seen some set photos in the past, we don’t have a whole lot to go off of for now. Thank goodness that all changes today.

Empire has released a new image of the film, and in it, we see John Wick riding a horse while in traffic. No joke, that’s the image.

Well, that’s a little bit odd, especially if it’s that motorcycle behind him he’s hoping to outrun. Spoiler alert: horses can’t outrun motorcycles. It’s all a little bit silly, and the comments from Stahelski saying the film will include “horses, dogs, cats, a raven, a bunch of pigeons, a motorcycle chase, car chase, Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick, shotguns and ninjas” doesn’t make it feel any less silly.

Has John Wick jumped the shark, or am I taking too many liberties with my imagination based on this out-of-context image? I’m inclined to go with the latter, but what do you think? Let us know down below!
