Multi-talented performer Jordan Peele is still contemplating hosting his upcoming reboot of the classic science-fiction series, The Twilight Zone. Speaking recently with Variety, the Oscar-winner revealed he believes his association with comedy may take away from the serious tone of the show.
“The realization, for me, was that it was an opportunity to attempt to continue with Serling’s mission. If we approach it without ego and sort of bow to Serling, that will hopefully suffice for our fellow Twilight Zone fans but also bring back a show that I think is needed right now. Because it’s a show that has always helped us look at ourselves, hold a mirror up to society.”

What is great about this is you can see how much Peele respects Rod Serling, and the show’s original vision. In my opinion that bodes incredibly well for this reboot. Peele has more than proven his abilities in the genres of comedy and horror, and now looks to tackle science fiction. Having no experience working within the sci-fi genre, Peele isn’t the first name to come to mind for a Twilight Zone reboot. Having said that, Peele also had no previous experience in the horror genre, bu that didn’t stop him nailing down the horror film Get Out. I find him to be an intriguing choice and fully believe he is more than capable of rebooting what is one of the greatest television shows of all time.
