Jumanji Sequel Cast Continues To Grow With New Addition

One half of the dynamic duo from Lethal Weapons Riggs and Murtaugh has signed on to act in the new Jumanji film, as Deadline reports. Yes, fans, we will get to see Danny Glover in the new, currently-untitled Jumanji film, which is a sequel to the 2017 comedy starring Kevin Hart, Dwayne Johnson, Karen Gillan, and Nick Jonas called Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

I enjoyed the recent Jumanji sequel so I am hoping that this sequel aims to build upon the things that worked in the first film, though I am extremely partial to the original Jumanji that starred the late Robin Williams. Admittedly, it’s hard to replicate the natural charisma and dramatic sorrow that Robin Williams was channeling through his character Allan Parrish. All issues due to Robin William’s amazing ability to bring something unique to his roles. Hell, I liked the original 1995 Jumanji film, and followed the characters Allan Parrish, Peter, and Judy Sheppard through their animated exploits chronicled in the 1999 cartoon that aired on UPN.

Part of me thinks that Danny Glover might be another human trapped in the world of Jumanji, though his role has yet to be revealed, so it might be possible Glover will be an NPC. Either way, I do look forward to seeing where this series is headed. Glover joins the previously announced Awkwafina and Danny DeVito. Sony has set a release date for December 13.
