Jurassic World Dominion Halts Filming Due To Covid

Jurassic World: Dominion halts filming for two weeks due to the Coronavirus. Previously, we had reported the release date was moving from June 11, 2021 to June 10, 2022 (check the related section below). The studio made this decision based on certain desires indirectly connected to COVID-19. Originally, Jurassic World: Dominion was three weeks out from finishing filming. It would be safe to assume this two week delay now puts them a little over a month from finishing. None of this should affect the 2022 release date.

News of possible positive COVID tests had not been shared at the time of writing the previous article. However, then we saw this from Colin Trevorrow. Below you will find the news about possible COVID tests on the set of Jurassic World: Dominion.  This news comes via a post on Colin Trevorrow’s Twitter feed. Trevorrow’s post leads me to think the tests were false positives. Check it out.

Safety protocols are a great thing

This is the wisest move Jurassic World: Dominion could make. Reactions to Trevorrow’s post online from fans have two main themes. One reaction is sending well wishes, the second is trying to figure out the dinosaur species in the pic. Hopefully, everyone’s main concern here is not meeting a release date or accurately labeling a dinosaur species. The safety of all involved should be top priority, so enacting safety protocols, in general, is for the benefit of all. It is the smartest thing to do. Getting back to theaters will be great, when there are some movies to watch. However, having the knowledge that care was shown in getting the Jurassic World: Dominion to that theater screen is even better.

What are your thoughts on temporarily halting Jurassic World for COVID safety?
