Kevin Feige On The Future Of The MCU And How Disney+ Will Be Part of it

Alright, let’s take a break from the heavy doses of Star Wars and Game of Thrones news and movie over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You folks know about this Endgame movie coming out soon don’t you? The follow-up to last year’s Avengers: Infinity War will see the MCU, as we know it atleast, come to a conclusion. At the same time it will help Marvel carve out new paths for the studio’s future.

Kevin Feige, the man, the myth, the legend, is responsible for what we now hold as the gold standard for shared cinematic universes. Feige recently spoke with Variety and without going into to much detail of course, revealed some vague plans for the superheroes moving forward. You can check out what he had to say below.

“Some of these films will feature characters that you already know. Some supporting characters will assume leading roles, while some new characters will be introduced. The reward for all of these films working is that we get to try to do it again and do it differently and learn from our mistakes and try something we haven’t tried before.”

Feige continued, speaking on how the Marvel series such as Shang-Chi and The Eternals which are said to air on Disney+ will factor into the MCU moving forward.

“These episodes will intersect with the movies in a very big way. It’s a totally new form of storytelling that we get to play with and explore.”

Well, Mr Feige has sold me on the idea, not that I’m a hard sell anyway, but I am in on what I hope to be a bigger and better version of what they sort of experimented with a few years ago with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. being connected to Avengers: Age of Ultron.
