Black Panther is huuuuge. Like, likely to be the fifth highest opening of a film domestically huge. Like, bigger than any Marvel Cinematic Universe film aside from the original The Avengers, huge.
Kevin Feige, as always, is the mastermind behind the masterminds of the project (aka the brilliant architect behind the brilliant writers and directors). So, what does he think of his studio’s latest creation?
In an interview with ABC News (via CinemaBlend) Kevin Feige expressed that Black Panther is the best film the MCU has produced, telling the story about the first time he watched the completed film:
“The movie finished, and I looked over at Ryan, I said, ‘That’s best movie we’ve made.'”
Ryan meaning Ryan Coogler, the co-writer and director of Black Panther, of course.
Certainly, Black Panther is deserving of such praise. Though it is not my personal favorite MCU film (it does land on #6 out of 18 on my list), I can see why some would call it the best MCU film to date. The question is, does Kevin Feige say this to every director after they finish their latest film, and does he say it to the press? In the end, mastermind Feige is selling his next film, so I wouldn’t be surprised in May if Feige says Avengers: Infinity War is the best movie Marvel Studios has made.
But, maybe, Feige is completely sincere? Who am I to judge? As I said, Black Panther is worthy of such praise, so if you haven’t seen it, go now! Right now!
