Kevin Hart To Play Hitman In Action Comedy

According to the outlet, The Tracking Board, comedian Kevin Hart will play an assassin in a new film for Universal titled On the Run.

Hart will co-produce the film along with Will Packer, the duo previously worked together on Ride AlongOn the Run will star Hart and be written by Aeysha Carr. The film follows a hitman who’s next assignment has an unanticipated target.

It should be fun to see Hart in a role like this, and will be a change of pace for him, playing a killer, but seeing how it is an action comedy, if the film sets the right tone he should be able to pull it off. Something along the lines of Central Intelligence should work fine.

Hart, who is currently filming Night School, a film which he also wrote, looks to have a hit with the Jumanji reboot (the reviews are very positive), and has been popping up everywhere over the last few years ever since he rose through the ranks of stand-up comedy.

Hart’s upcoming projects include a remake of the John Candy film, The Great Outdoors, a third installment into the Ride Along franchise, and the comedian is rumored to have a part in Last Friday.
