Yeah, I know. DC is a just a pile of rumors at this point. We’ve had rumors regarding Henry Cavill leaving the DCEU most recently, but you also may have heard the rumors surrounding Batman. No, not Ben Affleck again, but more specifically about Warner Bros. being interested in Game of Thrones star Kit Harington potentially taking on the cowl.
However, EW reporter James Hibberd took things a step further, contacting Harington’s rep, and sadly, the news doesn’t support said rumor. Here’s what Hibberd tweeted:
“The first time Kit Harington heard about this Batman rumor is when I called his rep yesterday to ask. So no (unfortunately!)”

So, as it stands, there doesn’t look to have been much in the way of actual movement on this front. However, in defense of the initial report, they did just say Warner Bros. requested mockups, and that they had no idea if it went anywhere. It’s very possible that Harington just wasn’t privy to these discussions. Then again, it’s also possible that the rumor was simply false.
As the weeks go on, I find myself anxious to finally get a real announcement from Warner Bros. that Affleck is out and someone else is in as the Bats. When that happens, I’ll be happy to put all this speculation to rest…and then we can start speculating as to whether or not that person is good for the role or not. It’s a never-ending cycle, isn’t it?
