Kristen Wiig In Talks To Play Cheetah In Wonder Woman 2

With Aquaman set for release this December, and Shazam! currently in production, the next film on DC’s slate is Wonder Woman 2.

Deadline reports that Kristen Wiig is in talks to appear in Wonder Woman 2 as the main villainess, Cheetah.

Gal Gadot will of course be returning as Diana Prince / Wonder Woman and Patty Jenkins will again direct. This time, Wonder Woman will find herself in the middle of the Cold War in the 1980s. The script comes from Dave Callaham (Doom, The Expendables).

Previously, we shared that Wonder Woman 2 is set to begin production this summer, likely shooting in the United Kingdom, specifically using stage space at Warner Bros. Studios, Leavesden, England.

Though Wiig is most famous for her comedic roles on Saturday Night Live, Bridesmaids, and Ghostbusters (2016), she has done drama as well, so she’ll be fine! Right? Somebody tell me it isn’t mad to cast a comedian in a physical role such as this!

Aquaman is set for release on December 21, 2018, Shazam! follows on April 5, 2019, and Wonder Woman is expected November 2019. Where the DC Extended Universe goes from there… nobody knows!

What do you think, Wonder Woman fans? Is Wiig up to the task of terrorizing Diana? Or do you have a better recommendation to play Cheetah? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below!
