As you may have heard already, things don’t seem to be going too well over there in James Bond land. You may have heard recent reports surrounding Bond 25, the still currently-untitled film that will mark Daniel Craig’s last foray into the world of 007. The initial report came from The Sun, who claimed that the set was basically in mutiny after director Cary Fukunaga was “several hours late” due to playing video games.

This prompted me to reach out to a source regarding the production, and while I was not able to confirm that he was indeed playing a PS4 game, I was able to corroborate the gist of what The Sun was claiming — namely, that Fukunaga has been having some real trouble adjusting to the large set that is Bond 25.

I will say that, while I do trust this source, since it is only one, I am labeling this one as a rumor. And, as with all rumors, take it with a grain of salt.

According to them, Fukunaga is being heavily criticized by the crew, with one general complaint saying that he’s treating the movie as if it is a smaller TV production and not a big Hollywood production. He’s coming across as aloof and unengaged in the production, with his attention span supposedly being poor, and there are instances of him pulling out his phone during meetings.

These aren’t the only issues. Production is also having trouble since the script isn’t even finished yet. This has made it impossible for them to build sets, and as such, they’ve been trying to shoot on location as much as possible to avoid having to build anything from later parts of the script. Apparently, the rewrites that Phoebe Waller-Bridge was brought on to do are more extensive than we originally thought.

The result of all of this? The production is massively behind, which is all kinds of unfortunate, especially after all the problems this movie had even BEFORE it got into production.
