It’s been a handful of months since Luke Cage joined the Defenders last August, and on the heels of clearing his name, he’s not wasting any time in putting his time as a free man to good use. Netflix just dropped the new trailer for the anticipated second season of Luke Cage — and it looks like it’ll be delivering on everything fans want from the season.

In the trailer, we see that in the time since The Defenders, he’s been fighting crime in Harlem, and his notoriety has only grown. Of course, as we know, no hero is invincible, and one man sets out to prove that. He takes down Luke Cage on the street, and before long, and the world sees that Luke Cage can be bled. That seems to be the inciting incident that kicks off everything.

Below is the official synopsis for Luke Cage Season 2:

“After clearing his name, Luke Cage has become a celebrity on the streets of Harlem with a reputation as bulletproof as his skin. But being so visible has only increased his need to protect the community and find the limits of who he can and can’t save. With the rise of a formidable new foe, Luke is forced to confront the fine line that separates a hero from a villain.”
