Marvel Studios Have Met With 65 Directors For Black Widow Film

With every film that comes out, it seems like the stakes are upped for Marvel Studios. The latest example with that is Avengers: Infinity War, and on the heels of that, the studio will want to make sure that their follow-up, Ant-Man and the Wasp doesn’t drop the bar in quality. However, there is one upcoming film that they absolutely have to nail.

That movie is Black Widow. Ever since her serviceable supporting role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, fans have been expressing their interest in seeing Natasha Romanoff lead her own film in some politically-charged thriller — one that’s significantly more grounded than its predecessors.

Now, all these years later, they’re finally working on developing it, and as such, Marvel Studios is likely dotting every I and crossing every T to ensure this is a good movie. Variety‘s Justin Kroll recently took to Twitter to share that the studio has already met with more than 65 directors to take on this film.

“Fun fact: More then [sic] 65 directors have met for the BLACK WIDOW job. Marvel being extremely thorough on this one”

There is no word on how many of these directors are female, but in a world where Wonder Woman had a female director and was a massive success, I’d be surprised if a good percentage of that 65 weren’t female.

What do you think of that figure? Are you becoming more confident in this film being good? Let us know your thoughts down below!
