Marvel To Release A 5-Issue Prequel Lando Comic To Compliment Solo: A Star Wars Story

With the Solo: A Star Wars Story trailer now out as well as some character posters, Marvel Entertainment has announced a new comic book project that will accompany the theatrical release of the film.

Entertainment Weekly has the exclusive first look for Marvel Entertainment’s five issue mini series, Lando: Double Or Nothing, which will be written by Marvel’s Falcon writer Rodney Barnes. The artist for the series is yet to be announced, check out the cover over at EW.

Lucasfilm’s Michael Siglain had this to say about the project, “It’s focused on Lando set during an incident right before the film, with backstory about Lando and L3. Coming out of the film, we think everyone is going to want to read more about Lando.”

Since the title is so close to the film, it will debut in comic book shops everywhere the Wednesday after the movie opens. Personally, I am not a fan of comics that compliment movies or television series as they seem to lack storytelling as they can’t really reveal any thing too important about the property. But given how far back this goes into Lando’s past, this may be an interesting read.
