Marvel’s Disney+ Shows Will Directly Connect To The Marvel Cinematic Universe

With Netflix canceling all of their Marvel series, it almost feels like the past several years has been a sort of Phase 1 of their current TV projects. Yes, we’ve had more of them than we can count between the likes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Cloak and Dagger, and they even often reference the world of the films, but I’d be lying if I said I thought they fully lived up to their promise.

More specifically, I had hoped they’d actually start to meaningfully interact with the movies by this point, with the Defenders even hopping in against the battle to take on Thanos. The probability of that happening in Avengers: Endgame is nil, and apart from a couple random references in the shows, they pretty much exist in their own canon. However, with Disney+ coming out along with some new Marvel Studios TV shows like Loki, one could hope things would be just a little bit different this time around, right?

Speaking with ComicBook.com, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige made this statement:

“They will be entirely interwoven with both the current MCU, the past MCU, and the future of the MCU.”

Boom. So there you have it. If you were concerned that these new shows would ultimately be inconsequential, it sounds like that will definitely not be the case, which will be a nice change of pace from what we got in the past. Of course, part of it had to do with the fact that Marvel Studios is run completely separate from the other Marvel Entertainment divisions, and some bad blood between Feige and Marvel Entertainment head Ike Perlmutter.

But with the new projects being run by Marvel Studios, it looks like we’ll finally be getting the film/TV interactions we craved from the beginning. Are you happy to see this, or do you think it will make the projects that much more inaccessible as time goes on? Let us know down below!
