Mindhunter Actor Joins Girl With The Dragon Tattoo Sequel

Actor Cameron Britton, who audiences may recognize from Netflix’s original series, Mindhunter, has landed a key role in the upcoming Girl With the Dragon Tattoo sequel, The Girl in the Spider’s Web.

As mentioned above, Britton was perhaps most widely seen on Mindhunter, where he played the role as the usually mild-mannered and intelligent (yet unpredictably violent) Edmund Kemper. In the series, he serves as the main characters’ lead source of information into the psyche of the serial killer, and we spent a lot of our time with him in prison, where he had extensive conversations discussing his attraction to killing (what he calls his hobby).

He was a definite highlight of the already amazing show, and it’ll be interesting to see who he ends up playing.

The Girl in the Spider’s Web is the fourth book in the Millennium Series, and is the second adaptation to hit stateside. Sadly, despite the overall fantastic quality of David Fincher’s Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, it didn’t perform well enough to warrant a direct sequel. So rather than make the other two books in that trilogy, they opted to move to the fourth book in the series so they can essentially reboot.

So far, The Girl in the Spider’s Web has Claire Foy in the role of Lisbeth Salander, Sylvia Hoeks as Lisbeth’s sister, and Claes Bang as the baddie. Currently, we have no idea who will be playing Mikael Blomkvist. On board to direct the film is Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez.

The film is currently set to begin this January, with a release date set for October 19, 2018.
