Missing Link Trailer 2: Mr. Link Is On A Quest To Find His Yeti ‘Cousins’

LAIKA is one of the studios that can’t seem to stop putting out delightful films. From ParaNorman to Kubo and the Two Strings, the work they do in producing tactile, beautiful-looking films. This pattern looks to continue with their latest film, Missing Link, which we know is their most ambitious movie to date, given its globetrotting nature.

We’ve already had one trailer for the film, but in this new one, we get a better idea of the character goals and relationships. We also get a heavier dose of some of the slapstick humor we’ll be treated to. Personally, I’m still not sure how I feel about this one. It’s not nearly as dark as their usual fare, and while it is gorgeous, something about it feels a bit more…shallow than what I’m hoping for? Maybe it’s just the lack of real conflict or emotion that I’m feeling here. That being said, LAIKA has yet to let me down so it’s worth a try, right?

Below is the official synopsis for Missing Link:

“Meet Mr. Link: 8 feet tall, 630 lbs, and covered in fur, but don’t let his appearance fool you… he is funny, sweet, and adorably literal, making him the world’s most lovable legend. Tired of living a solitary life in the Pacific Northwest, Mr. Link recruits fearless explorer Sir Lionel Frost to guide him on a journey to find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Along with adventurer Adelina Fortnight, our fearless trio of explorers encounter more than their fair share of peril as they travel to the far reaches of the world to help their new friend.”

Missing Link hits theaters on April 12, 2019.
