Recently we have been sharing some rumored leaks from Star Wars: Episode 9 that were first revealed over at Making Star Wars. Since the initial report we have already had some clarification about certain points and we have more on that front today. Check the initial report as covered by LRM below, as this piece will just cover the additional information to appear on the outlet prior to the weekend. You can find the source Here and we also took some information from their This, is Podracing podcast also.

The new information adds a little more clarity to those original rumors so let’s get right to it.

Sith Troopers

There was rumor of various troops that were being called Sith Troopers that come from a mysterious place called The Beyond where a new threat springs that is a concern to both the First Order and the Rebellion. Apparently, the name Sith Troopers was never used on set and the outlet’s sources have said this was just a generic name for bad guys rather than a specific connection to the Sith. What they do say now is that these troopers appear to NOT be from The Beyond and are controlled by Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren instead.

Trailers

MSW sources claim that the trailer they saw back in December will not be the trailer that eventually gets released online, they feel it possibly contains too much new footage for a first trailer, though didn’t give the plot away. So whilst all their sources appeared to enjoy this trailer they feel it may be something that appears to fans much further down the line.

Rey’s Hair

Apparently, Rey has the same hairstyle as The Force Awakens in this movie so they are able to use shots of her in cut scenes with Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia. Obviously, we all know by now about Carrie’s tragic death just after The Last Jedi was released, and we are aware they are trying to use old footage to give Carrie a presence in this movie.

The MacGuffin

We have already heard there is a MacGuffin in this movie sought for my both sides and the latest update said that this MacGuffin could be seen as controversial by the fanbase. No details on who or what this is. The new details say that while the idea of this MacGuffin will be controversial the actual execution will not be, now whatever that means I can’t quite fathom. But it is said this MacGuffin evolves as the movie progresses so the movie will not begin with both sides on the search for something.

Matt Smith

Details on who Matt Smith is playing or anything about his character are non-existent at this point, but the outlet has heard Smith will NOT be a Knight of Ren. On the Knights of Ren, they have heard they are not all female as some sources have claimed and that they are not the threat from The Beyond, though that threat from The Beyond still exists and will feature in the movie.

Rian Johnson and his trilogy

After the false rumors that swirled around last week, MSW spoke on their podcast about what they hard regarding all things Rian Johnson.

They say their sources have told them that originally Johnson’s trilogy was supposed to happen prior to that of Game of Thrones writer/producers Benioff and Weiss. However, after the shake-up with Solo flopping, this was reversed and Disney now plans to go full steam ahead into the trilogy with Benioff and Weiss. They also claim that Johnson’s trilogy is designed for a younger audience and was expected to go for a G rating.

Not a great deal here and really just some further clarification of the rumors and leaks already published. However we said we’d keep you up to date with any developments on this story, so here you go. How likely all this is, I can’t speak to. What perhaps I can say is that the outlet is very confident this information is genuine and that they have had a decent hit rate (not perfect) on the previous 2 movies.
