Mortal Kombat: New Logo Revealed And Progress Update

Let me start by saying I am against this movie. I am against it because I don’t think you can do the mythology or characters enough justice in a two-hour film. I believe a six to eight-episode streaming series would have been the better. However, I am just a lowly writer whose opinion means nothing to the juggernauts in Hollywood.

Mortal Kombat is coming, regardless of my opinion, and the people involved seem to be excited about it. Lewis Tan, whose role is yet to be disclosed, talked about his excitement on a social media post:

If you click on the picture you can also get a shot of the movie’s official logo. The updated dragon logo adds a bit of an ouroboros feel to it. For those that don’t know what the ouroboros is, it’s a dragon eating its own tail and is the symbol of the Homunculi in Full Metal Alchemist.

Tan states that he is “half-way” through his experience on the film. I am not sure if that means the entire production is half over or if his personal schedule of filming is half way through.

So far the Simon McQuoid directed film has cast Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee), Scorpion (Hiroyuki Sanada), Raiden (Tadanobu Asano), Jax (Mehcad Brooks), Kano (Josh Lawson), Shang Tsung (Chin Han), Sub-Zero (Jow Taslim), Lui Kang (Ludi Lin), Kung Lao (Max Huang), and Mileena (Sisi Stringer). The film hits the big screen in May 2021.

Who do you think Tan will be playing? Are you excited about the film? Let us know in the comments below!
