Pretty recently, Power Rangers’ Ludi Lin was rumored to be up for a big role — as the lead one of Marvel’s latest franchises, Shang-Chi. He obviously didn’t get the role, but it was indicative of his potential rising stardom. Very soon, this guy would likely be leading some movies in Hollywood, if his trajectory continued.
Now, it sounds as though Lin is in negotiations with New Line Cinema to play another big role: Liu Kang. Of course, this is one of the lead characters in the Mortal Kombat franchise.

While we still don’t know what the upcoming Mortal Kombat film will be about, there’s still a solid chance the movie will focus on him in some way, if the games are any indication. This film sees Lin coming off of his episode Season 5 of Black Mirror, where he interacted in a very Mortal Kombat-inspired world, so it’s quite fitting that he be up for a role.
I have no idea why, but I personally picture him as more of a Sub-Zero, but what the hell do I know?
