Does it feel like 2004? If you’ve been hungry for nostalgia from the indie landscape back from 15 years ago, there may be something from IDW heading your way. Napoleon Dynamite. Yes, the successful live-action cult favorite film that spawned a failed cartoon series is returning. No, sadly we won’t be getting a film follow-up, but if you’ve been itching to see Napoleon, Pedro, Deb, and Uncle Rico are all up to, you’ll have your chance in comic book form.

According to a report from THR, we will be getting a four-issue comic book series based on the 2004 movie. The story will take place after the film, and will follow Pedro as he governs the student body. But his position is threatened when he’s accused of having cheated to win the election, and it’s up to Napoleon and Deb to clear his name before it’s too late.

The comic comes from Time Cheetah co-creators Carlos Guzman-Verdugo and Alejandro Verdugo penning the story and Adventure Time vet Jorge Monlongo doing the art. The cover for the first issue is done by Sara Richard.

“Napoleon Dynamite is a pop-culture staple, a coming-of-age cult classic that spoke to the weirdo in all of us. It’s an honor to have the chance to expand on the lives of Napoleon, Deb, and Pedro — characters that continue to resonate to this day. I still see people wearing ‘Vote for Pedro’ t-shirts!” Verdugo said in a statement about the series. Guzman-Verdugo added, “With this new story, we’re focusing on matching the movie’s unique tone, finding that perfect blend of oddball comedy and charming slice-of-life drama. It’s certainly been a challenge but one we’re sure will pay off for long-time fans.”
