Natasha Rothwell-Written, Tina Fey-Produced Series Coming To Netflix

Natasha Rothwell, known for her time on HBO’s Insecure, will be heading to Netflix.

The talented actress and writer has penned her own series titled Hometown, along with co-writer Paula Pell (30 Rock). Rothwell will write and star in the series. The two have a big name on the team with Tina Fey producing the series.

While having Fey’s name attached to the series is a big deal, Rothwell’s latest achievements helps to garner attention for the project. Rothwell received an NAACP Image Award nomination for her role as Kelli on Insecure. She played Ms. Albright in 2018’s Love, Simon, Angie in 2015’s A Year And Change, and has appeared on the shows Royal Pains and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Additionally, she wrote and started in the Netflix original sketch series Netflix Presents: The Characters and was a writer for Saturday Night Live. She will soon be appearing in Sonic The Hedgehog and Wonder Woman 1984.

Pell’s Hollywood résumé is also a mix of acting and writing. She is a veteran writer for Saturday Night Live, writing for over twenty years and 314 episodes for the legendary show. She also wrote the film Sisters, starring Fey and Amy Poehler, and wrote episodes of 30 Rock and the HBO series Camping. Pell produced the film This Is 40 and will be appearing in the film Wine Country (about a group of friends celebrating a 50th birthday in Napa) with Fey, Poehler and Maya Rudolph.

Hometown has yet to receive an exact release date and is still in development.
