Netflix Head Thinks Daredevil Season 3 Is A ‘Return To Form’

I’ve said it before. While I have enjoyed most of what I’ve seen from these Marvel shows (even the bad ones), I do think my infatuation with them has officially left, and I don’t think I’m alone in that regard. When Daredevil first hit, enthusiasm was at an all-time high. A dark, bloody version of a character that was mistreated? Yes, please! And that season was well-made, to boot.

But as things have gone on, the bigger it’s gotten, the less interesting it’s become. I point to the use of The Hand in Daredevil Season 2, Iron Fist, and The Defenders as the biggest problem. Now, here we are, in 2018, two years after Daredevil Season 3 was greenlit. Why is it taking so long? Should we be worried? Here’s what Netflix VP original content Cindy Holland had to say:

“The biggest issue was the timing of production and launching of The Defenders because what that meant is we had to shut down all of the shows, so all the actors be available for The Defenders so it’s more function of that. There is no problem with this season, I think it’s fantastic, it’s real return to form in my view.”

Return to form, eh?

While that is great news for those who love Daredevil, I can’t help but play Mr. Cynicism here and wonder why Iron Fist couldn’t be a return to form. After all, that is the next show set to come out this fall, right? Well, it could be she meant for Daredevil specifically — I certainly hope so.
