Netflix Shares Photo Of Ghost In The Shell: SAC_2045

If you’re a Netflix subscriber, you know one of its streaming giants strongest points has to be their original content offerings. Who hasn’t at least heard of, if not binged Stranger Things, House of Cards, or Fuller House? But Netflix is no slouch in the anime department either. With original offerings like the beat-em-up coming of age, action-packed Baki the Grappler, Ajin: Demi-Human, the hellishly good Castlevania, and the very X-rated, cover-your-eyeballs Devilman Crybaby.

Thanks to Netflix we can now we add Ghost in the Shell to the list. Yes, the Major may not have translated well to live-action, but we know she is spectacular on both the big and small screen so long as she’s animated. Netflix’s Ghost in the Shell will be titled Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045. Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama, the very same directors responsible for Netflix’s Ultraman will bring the Major back using Japanese 3DCG. This will be a landmark from Netflix and the Ghost in the Shell property as it is the first time in history two directors will helm a Ghost in the Shell project.

I distinctly remember 2004 and sitting in an AMC theater in Alexandria, Virginia watching Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. It was an amazing time at the movies. Ghost in the Shell is a property that definitely has a large fanbase. With Netflix behind the property, its fan base is sure to increase as subscribers decide to give it a watch.
