New Aquaman Image Shows The Council Of Kings

With Aquaman‘s trailer said to be dropping “soon”, today we get a new promotional image from the film along with a piece of concept art that comes from Entertainment Weekly. The image shows The Council of the Kings, which was an ancient Atlantean meeting place. It is said that when Atlantis sank, it was split into seven kingdoms, you can see a representative from each kingdom in the photo. A few other notable items stand out in the images. First, we can see that Atlantean soldiers ride great white sharks, “When you see these Atlantean army riding these sharks, it’s so photo-real it blows you away,” says Peter Safran producer on the film.

Also seen are the men of King Nereus, ruler of Xebel (played by Dolph Lundgren) , who ride seadragons. This idea comes from the film’s dirrector James Wan who wanted to change the idea from the comics of riding sea horses. And finally, you can see Willem Dafoe’s Vulko character perched upon a hammerhead shark, as well Patrick Wilson’s Orm riding what is believed to be a tylosaur.

This image looks pretty cool, I am really wanting to see the trailer to get a better feel of the films overall look, but if it is anything like what is depicted in the photo, I’d say we are in for some great visuals.

Aquaman hits theaters December 21.
