Pre-orders for Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment’s individual releases of the Star Wars saga on Blu-ray have started and they give us a first look at the new matching artwork on the box sets for the movies. All 10 Star Wars movies will be available to own on September 22, each offers both the Blu-ray/DVD, and a Digital HD code, which is a first for the pre-Disney six Star Wars movies.
It is thought that The Rise of Skywalker will get a matching box art when it goes on home release sometime in 2020. However, there is also a thought from many in the industry that Disney will also release a special Skywalker Saga box set in 4K for the first time along with the release of The Rise of Skywalker on Blu-ray. There is no confirmation of this, but rumor is that Disney may announce something at D23 later this month, so keep your eyes peeled for that one.

For me, I already own Blu-ray of all of these movies other than The Last Jedi and Solo, so I don’t see much to attract me to pick up this new set, really as far as we can tell the artwork is the only real difference. However, if Disney does release a 4K box set, then I am absolutely going to be buying that, even if I probably would never rush to watch the prequel trilogy again. I guess we will find out more, maybe, at D23 in a couple weeks’ time?
