New Image From Venom And What Made Tom Hardy Choose The Role

Just a few months now and fans will get to see the latest big screen version of the character Venom. Tom Hardy stars in the role this time around, and in speaking with Entertainment Weekly, the actor revealed his reason for choosing Venom as his comicbook debut.

“As far as Marvel characters, I have to say for me, Venom looks the coolest. That sounds a bit shallow! But I appreciate that he has a kind of brazen swagger and a zero foxtrot attitude.”

Hardy Continued:

“There’s a tragic clown element, which I find funny and is harmonious with some of the work that I like to do. There’s something funny about the circumstances of having a gift but it’s a tragic gift. It’s a superpower you don’t really want, but at the same time, you love it. It makes you feel special. He’s a reluctant hero and an anti-hero.”

Along with the interview, EW also debuted a new official image from the film which you can see here.

When first hearing about Tom Hardy’s casting as Venom, I sort of thought that his talents could be put to better use, with a more well-known character, on a bigger stage such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, after seeing the trailer I am liking Hardy more in the role.
