New James Bond Game Coming From IO Interactive

IO Interactive announced a new James Bond game. Currently, it only has a working title of Project 007. Take a look at the teaser trailer below.

Excited yet? The teaser trailer is simple but effective hype using the famous James Bond theme from the movies. On the official site, some limited information gives us a basic idea of what to expect from the game. It should not come as a huge shock that Project 007 contains an original Bond story. Players will need to earn their 00 status in what is billed as the first James Bond origin story. Since IO Interactive is looking to round out their talent pool, it means the game is some time away from release. IO Interactive is not new to this type of game. They have produced numerous successful Hitman video games over the years. Maybe this indicates a grittier video game adaption.

How will it stack up against previous entries?

It is probably too early to ask this type of question. Over the years, most James Bond game developers tried to craft a decent story. They were not always successful. However, most Bond video game developers focus heavily on multiplayer. Every time an announcement of a new James Bond game appears, people hope it resembles Goldeneye. That entry is typically the standard for comparison of all others. When Goldeneye first released on N64, many gamers had countless hours of enjoyment by playing different multiplayer maps. Those who I played the game with always wanted to play one another round. Let’s hope Project 007 turns out this way.
