New Joker Image And Film’s Rating

One of the most infamous villains of all time is returning to the big screen this fall. Joker has slowly gained steam since the release of it’s first trailer some time ago. It has also helped that the director for the film Todd Phillips has been busy on his Instagram page releasing some great looking images from the film. His latest post is no different, check it out below!

As you can see by Phillip’s post, the black and white image features star of the film Joaquin Phoenix in front of a mirror applying his clown make-up with the caption “Finishing touches”. Images like these have really put the classic Batman villain in a new light, showing a lot more of his human side and his transition to the clown prince of crime of Gotham that we all know him all too well for.

This post also has given us some additional information about the film as Phillips in response to a question about the film’s MPAA rating said that “It will be Rated R. I’ve been asked this a lot. Just assumed people knew. Sorry.” Seems like this film is going to be giving us a more adult oriented version of the Joker’s journey into madness.

This film is set in 1981 and centers around a failed and highly unstable stand up comic that is pushed too far and ends up transforming into a psychotic arch criminal ready to terrorize Gotham City. Joining Phoenix on the film is Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Marc Maron, Bill Camp, Glenn Fleshler, Shea Whigham and Brett Cullen.

What do you think of this new image of Phoenix? Do you like the fact that the film will be Rated-R? Let us know in the comment section below!
