New Killer God of High School Trailer Drops with Release Date!

Hello, anime fans! If you’ve been keeping up with some of the most anticipated anime of the year, then I’m sure you have heard of The God of High School. The series is based on the South Korean web manhwa (or manga) created by Yongje Park and published by WEBTOON. The series follows high-school fighter Jin Mori, who is invited to participate in a tournament to determine the strongest high schooler of all. If he wins, he gets a wish.

This is definitely one I’ve been waiting for, as I do enjoy my action anime. Thank goodness, the wait is nearly over. Crunchyroll has announced the premiere date for The God of High School, with the reveal of brand new key art and a high-energy trailer.

The new key art features main characters Jin Mori, Yoo Mira and Han Daewi, alongside the mysterious Park Illpyo. I like how the anime is keeping with the style of the web manhwa it is based on. And speaking of style, that trailer really showcases some of the intense fights we can expect to see from this debut season.

The God of High School will premiere Monday, July 6th exclusively on Crunchyroll.

The animation looks fantastic, and considering that The God of High School is produced by MAPPA, I think that is reason enough to be excited for this series. MAPPA is known for producing popular anime such as Zombie Land Saga, Yuri on Ice, and the upcoming final season of Attack on Titan. While I haven’t given all of these hit anime a watch yet, it’s still safe to say they know how to make successful and visually stunning anime.

Also, if you were digging the music from that trailer, the full-length version of KSUKE’s song “Contradiction (feat. Tyler Carter)” hits on July 3rd (JST). The TV version hits on July 7th (JST). CIX’s song “WIN” releases on July 7th JST.

Elaborate action sequences, intense music, and one big tournament arc. What’s not to like? I’m hopeful this show lives up to the hype. Either way, I’ll be watching on July 6th to find out for myself.

But what do you think? Are you guys excited to check out The God of High School? Let us know in the comments below!
