New Onward Trailer Explains Why Magic Has Mostly Disappeared

Next year will see not one, but TWO Pixar movies hit theaters. What’s more is that there will actually be two ORIGINAL productions, as opposed to the sequels we’ve gotten used to as of late. The first to hit will be Onward, which features a unique “suburban fantasy” setting, full of magical creatures and magic…but with an overall feel of a modern setting.

The trailers in the past have hinted at the idea of there being more magic in the world in the past, but haven’t really dug into why it’s virtually gone in this modern world. Now, in a new trailer, they reveal the simple reason: that magic is hard.

In addition to the trailer, we also got a new poster for the film.

Below is the official synopsis for Onward:

“Set in a suburban fantasy world, Disney and Pixar’s Onward introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there. Pixar Animation Studios’ all-new original feature film is directed by Dan Scanlon and produced by Kori Rae—the team behind Monsters University. Onward releases in theaters on March 6, 2020”
