No, Daniel Radcliffe Isn’t Interested In Playing Wolverine

I love and hate the internet on a near-daily basis. I love it for the entertainment it brings everyday and the opportunity it brings for businesses, but it doesn’t come without its own set of problems. On the internet, it’s easy to take things out of context and it’s easy for whole swaths of misinformation to spread like wildfire.

I’ll admit, we’ve done our fair share of spreading as well, but it is a double-edged sword, nonetheless. One recent piece of news that was spread was Daniel Radcliffe’s supposed interest in playing Wolverine for when Marvel Studios inevitably resurrects the character for the MCU. Speaking with Wired, he had joked about it, saying:

“There’s going to be a new Wolverine movie, in which it starts off with Hugh Jackman being put into a hot wash. And then when he comes out, it’s me. So yes, I’m very happy to announce that here.”

Unfortunately, jokes don’t transfer well in text form, and reading that now, other than maybe that last bit, it certainly sounds like he’s being serious. But while promoting his new TBS series Miracle Workers, he cleared the whole deal up, saying:

“This is what happens when you make jokes. Wouldn’t it be great if you could just start casting yourself in things by just saying them in interviews? So I guess people have been asking something about me and Wolverine, and I made a joke about [playing] Wolverine after being in a hot wash, like I’d been shrunk in a hot wash, and the internet seems to think that I was putting that out there on my dream board cosmic ordering system. A comedy where Wolverine has got tiny? And now I’m not as equipped to fight but I’m still really sharp? That would be great.”

In Radcliffe’s defense, in the comics, Wolverine is actually a pretty small dude, so that aspect could actually work in his favor!

But, regardless, that sounds like a hard no. So if you’d already pinned up Boss Logic’s take of Radcliffe as Wolverine, you may wanna take it down –it doesn’t sound like it’s happening. But who do you want to play Wolverine? Any thoughts as to who can take the torch from Hugh Jackman? Sound off in the comments below!
