No, Michael Bay Is Not Involved With The Dora The Explorer Live-Action Movie

If you can believe it, there seems to be quite the mix-up regarding the upcoming Dora the Explorer. Apparently, trusted trade THR initially reported last week that the film was set to be produced by Platinum Dunes, and by extension, Michael Bay.

Taking time to clear up the noise, Michael Bay’s official Twitter account posted a tweet that cleared the air, saying:

“One more time: Bay or Platinum Dunes has nothing to do with the Dora movie. It is being falsely reported in the press. Bay is set to start directing #6underground this week and Platinum Dunes has started developing #AQuietPlace 2.”

But where could this confusion have come from? Well, there are more than a few places I can see. For starters, the film is a Paramount joint, and as we’re sure many of you know, that’s the same studio that’s churned out those Transformers movies, all of which Bay had a hand in.

It was an odd little mistake, but there are other outlets like HuffPost that took their word for it, perpetuating it. It’s unclear how many outlets made this mistake, but fret not, Bay won’t have a say in this action-comedy — though it does kind of seem like a project he would do, doesn’t it?
