Celebrity Tribute with Kevin Bacon, Vanessa Hudgens and Jillian Bell | Napa Valley Film Festival 2019

Napa Valley Film Festival is underway with its ninth annual tradition of honoring film celebrities in the backdrop of wine country.

The film festival honored Kevin Bacon with the Charles Krug Legendary Actor honor; Jillian Bell with the Alpha Omega Spotlight award; and Vanessa Hudgens with the Blackbird Vineyards Visionary honor.

The celebrity tributes program honored the three actors focused on their careers and contributions to the industry. The event was hosted by Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner.

Kevin Bacon is a legendary actor. He started in the business with roles in National Lampoon’s Animal House and Friday the 13th. His breakout role is with the 1984’s Footloose as the rebellious teenager changing a small town with music and dance. He has performed in the conspiracy thriller JFK, legal drama A Few Good Men, historical film Apollo 13 and mystery drama Mystic River. In recent years, he had appeared in Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class as Sebastian Shaw; R.I.P.D. as Hayes; and the indie darling Cop Car as Sheriff Kretzer. He is currently in the television series City on a Hill as Jackie Rohr.

Vanessa Hudgens made her feature film debut with Thirteen and became notable as Gabriella Montez in Disney’s High School Musical film series. She had gone on to star in Sucker Punch, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, Spring Breakers, The Princess Switch and Second Act. She had participated in two of Fox’s live musical productions of Grease: Live in 2016 and Rent: Live in 2019. She will be appearing in the upcoming anticipated action film Bad Boys for Life with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Jillian Bell is an accomplished comedian, actress, and screenwriter. Her rise to fame started notably as Jillian Belk on Comedy Central’s Workaholics and then as Dixie in the final season of Eastbound and Down. She had small roles in Paul Thomas Anderson’s The Master and with Inherent Vice. The biggest break in the film world was with her appearance in 22 Jump Street with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. She worked non-stop with Goosebumps, Office Christmas Party, Fist Fight, and Rough Night. She provides her voice to many animated favorites, including Bob’s Burgers, Bless the Harts, Archer and Netflix’s Green Eggs and Ham. For this year, she is getting accolades for her portrayal as Brittany Forglar, an overweight women planning to run the New York City Marathon, in Brittany Runs a Marathon. She will be seen in the anticipated comedy follow-up movie Bill & Ted Face the Music.
