Once Upon A Time In Hollywood: Scoot McNairy Discusses His Work With Quentin Tarantino

Love him or hate him, Quentin Tarantino is undoubtedly an influential figure in filmmaking. Few have had anywhere the same impact on generations of filmmakers as his, and even after all these decades, he has a style that is wholly unique and his own. We saw him flaunt his skills a few years back in The Hateful Eight and have been waiting patiently for his next film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which looks to be a love letter to the industry he clearly loves so much.

While we have yet to see footage from the movie, we know that it features a huge ensemble cast. Additionally, we know what a good chunk of them are actually set to do in the film, including Leonardo DiCaprio, who plays an aging Western star whose career is on the ropes. Scoot McNairy is another actor taking on the film, and in a recent interview with Collider, he discussed his role.

“That was probably one of the greatest experiences of my career. Just to watch Quentin be on set and be Quentin, and hold court, was one of the most fascinating things I have probably ever experienced in the movie business. It was an amazing, awesome experience. I would give anything to do it again. I really loved just listening to the guy be an encyclopedia on set. It’s incredible, the amount of information that guy stores in his head. But, it was great. I play a character that’s within a TV show in the movie. I know I’m not supposed to speak too much about it, but I can say that I play a character on a TV show, within the movie.”

The actor will be playing Business Bob Gilbert, a fictional cowboy from the TV series Bounty Law. How that character plays into the film is still unknown, as there seem to be a lot of moving parts in this flick, including Charles Manson, Sharon Tate, and the Manson family murders.
