Once Upon A Time In Hollywood Trailer: Tarantino Brings His Brand Of Storytelling To Tinsel Town

We’ve been tracking this movie for a hell of a long time now. It’s been a project that’s been teased for years, and it became the subject of many headlines on the heels of the #MeToo movement, which saw Tarantino having to sell his wares to a different studio — one that wasn’t mired in controversy. What followed was a situation where studios had to pitch to Tarantino to get the prestigious picture under their belts.

Now, we are seeing the fruits of all this labor in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. The trailer doesn’t really tell us anything we didn’t already know regarding the plot, but it does a good job of showing off the more comedic and goofy aspects of this movie. It’s an entertaining ride, for sure, but perhaps the part that makes me laugh most is that Brad Pitt seems to be channeling his Inglorious Basterds performance.

Below is the official synopsis for Once Upon A Time in Hollywood:

“Quentin Tarantino’s ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD visits 1969 Los Angeles, where everything is changing, as TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt) make their way around an industry they hardly recognize anymore. The ninth film from the writer-director features a large ensemble cast and multiple storylines in a tribute to the final moments of Hollywood’s golden age.”
