Oscar Isaac Has A New Name For Big-Budget Streaming Films

If we could flash back to 2005, most of us never would have imagined the world we lived in now would be possible. Streaming movies wasn’t even really a thing back then (I remember in college I later switched a DVD plan that offered three hours of streaming a MONTH), and the idea of the Netflix making movies themselves to be released solely for home consumption would have felt like a race to the bottom for many.

Hell, even now, over a decade later, there are still some filmmakers out there touting theatrical releases as the end-all be-all for the medium, so that snobbery is, by no means, restricted to the past. But Netflix is starting to bring bigger-budget movies to us now, and one such film is Triple Frontier, which stars Oscar Isaac and Ben Affleck. When asked about calling this film a blockbuster by Associate Press, Isaac had the following to say.

“Maybe couchbuster is more appropriate? Because no one is waiting around a block for this thing. (Laughs) Right? It’s at home. It’s kind of an amazing thing.”
