Paul Rudd No Longer Being Eyed For Sonic The Hedgehog Movie

I’m sorry, Paul Rudd fans, but if you were hoping to see the lovable actor star alongside the Blue Blur, you may be in for a bit of a disappointment. On Tuesday of this week, That Hashtag Show reported that Paul Rudd was currently being eyed to star as the main human character in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog film, which is set to be a live-action/CGI hybrid.

While plot details are scarce, the story supposedly sees the human cop character team up with Sonic to take on the evil Doctor Robotnik, who many gamers will recognize from the long line of Sonic games. If you read that description imagining Rudd in the role, imagine no more!

That Hashtag Show received an update from Paramount itself saying that Rudd is no longer being considered for the role. Admittedly, Sonic the Hedgehog isn’t really in my list of most anticipated upcoming films, so the idea of Rudd no longer being considered is a bit of a bummer. In order to sell someone like me on this film and convince me it won’t be an Alvin and the Chipmunks dud of a film.

Hopefully, the studio will be able to find someone out there who can bring the same weight and gravitas as Paul Rudd. Who do you think would be a good alternative for the role based on our limited info? Let us know your thoughts down below!
