Plot Details For Goosebumps: Slappy’s Revenge Revealed

With these words Slappy the Dummy, one of the main villains in R. L. Stine’s Goosebumps series, is brought to life. Once alive he tries to make the person who read the words his slave. His character made his debut in Goosebumps: Night of the Living Dummy in 1993. Along with many books he has also been featured in the television series as well as Sony’s 2015 film Goosebumps directed by Rob Letterman. We also know that he will be coming back for a sequel.

It had been reported that the title of that film was going to be Goosebumps: Slappy’s Revenge and thanks to Omega Underground we have some insight on some of the plot details. Slappy is going to be brought back to life to bring forth an apocalypse on Halloween night with the help of Nikola Tesla. The film will feature a set of new kids which include a 17-year-old Sarah her brother Sonny and their friend Sam.

Speculation is that Jack Black will be back for the sequel to at least reprise his role as the voice of Slappy. The film has suffered some production delays so it is unknown if Sony will be able to make their October 12th release. But reports are that they will start shooting next month.

It will be interesting to see what approach Sony takes with this film. The first film felt more like a nostalgic trip for those who grew up reading the books. Showing us throughout the film different characters from Stine’s catalog of stories, instead of concentrating on a specific one. Are you interested in a Goosebumps sequel?

Sony’s Goosebumps: Slappy’s Revenge will rise in theaters October 12, 2018.
