Eternals is set for November 2020 release and we also know that production is set to begin at Pinewood studios this September. Whilst this isn’t a definite, it does appear as if perhaps the sets are beginning to be built for the production now down at Black Park. If you have heard that name before, it’s because Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker has been filming there and recently returned to the location for reshoots.
And so the BespinBulletin has revealed some new sets being built which they originally thought were for the next Star Wars movie. Now after analysing the shots, the outlet doesn’t think these sets are for Star Wars at all, and they guess that this could be for Marvel’s Eternals instead. It sort of looks like some kind of amphitheatre is being built with a big human shaped statue in the centre. Some fans have already commented on the original social media post to say that this visually does look like something Jack Kirby (creator of the Eternals) would have come up with. Saying that, there is no solid information as yet that this is definitely for Eternals. Suffice to say that it does seem likely, given the production dates for the movie, the location, the Kirbyesque visuals and the Olympia Productions name. Some fans have guessed that the statue glimpsed here could be that of a Celestial, the race that created the Eternals, and the movie is expected to go deeper into that race of ancient beings, and their goals.

It may be some time before anyone can officially say this is from Eternals, but it does look likely based on what we know right now. One would expect given the immortal nature of the Eternals, that events maybe flashback or begin way into humanity’s past. This doesn’t look like a modern day setting in any way, perhaps Eternals will explore what influence these characters have had on Earth’s history, and hopefully why these characters did not become involved when their relative Thanos decided to kill half the life in Universe in Avengers: Infinity War? We know that Thanos is the cousin of Thena, who will be played by Angelina Jolie in the Eternals movie. We also know how tough Thanos was, almost tough enough to defeat all the Avengers without using the Infinity Stones, though, we reckon Scarlett Witch and Captain Marvel might have took him. So I would expect these characters will have a level of power perhaps beyond anyone other than Witch and Cap Marvel in the MCU?
Really we have zero idea about what the narrative of this story will revolve around, it’s a bit of a mystery and it could be months and months before we get any further details. For now, this likely set picture is the best we can do.
