R-Rated Animated Alien Series Reportedly In Development

Filmmaker Ridley Scott has no shortage of Alien ideas. We know for a fact that before Alien: Covenant came out that there was at least one script either completed or in a near-complete state. Despite the film’s financial shortcomings, it looks like those involved are willing to continue on the franchise in a different form. More specifically, in series form.

Last week, there was a report from HN Entertainment that there were two live-action series in the works. It was a report that slipped through the cracks here at LRM Online, so we didn’t get to it, but it’s an interesting one, to say the least. Two live-action series with Ridley Scott as an executive producer? That’d be pretty sweet, right?

Well, it’s reportedly these live-action takes aren’t the only ones The Observer is reporting that an R-rated animated series based on the video game Alien: Isolation is being developed for a seven-episode run. The series will come from Axis Animation, who did work on the game, and it could hit this coming April. Yeah, you heard me, this coming April.

Luckily, since the window on this one is so small, we’ll know sooner rather than later if it’s true, as there’s no way something this far along would be canceled.
