Rambo 5 Called Rambo 5: Last Blood

Sylvester Stallone likes going back to the well a lot. There are plenty of filmmakers out there who dare not besmirch their creative vision with a sequel — that filmmaker is not Stallone. As we know, he’s already churned out six Rocky movies (not to mention the two Creed spin-off films) and created an entire action franchise out of the idea of infinite sequels with The Expendables.

But we cannot forget another big franchise of his: The Rambo franchise. Yes, this confusingly titled series of films is known for its hard edge, ultraviolence, and depressing overall tone. We got our last entry in the franchise over 10 years ago, but Stallone is ready to fill the boots in John Rambo once again with Rambo 5: Last Blood.

That’s right, buried in a new report from THR, it looks like they’re going with Rambo 5: Last Blood as the main title for the flick. This, of course, is a reference to the first film’s name, First Blood. It was only with the second film, Rambo: First Blood Part II that the Rambo moniker really started to take hold, and then it really drove itself home with Rambo III when the “First Blood” bit was dropped altogether. this continued with the fourth film, John Rambo.

So with this latest entry, it looks to be another one that takes it back to its roots — hopefully with a more grounded tone than the last few films. In this latest film, we will see John Rambo take on the Mexican drug cartels. Sharing the screen with him will be actress Paz Vega, who will be playing a reporter covering the cartels who must team up with Rambo when her younger sister is kidnapped.

How do you feel about the official title? Do you truly think this will be last blood? Let us know down below!
