Ray Fisher Has His Doubts About Cyborg Solo Film, Remains Hopeful

A film we haven’t heard much about for a while, is  the Cyborg solo film starring Ray Fisher. With a supposed release set for 2020, Fisher, says he has his doubts the film will ever get made. While attending New Jersey’s Heroes & Villains FanFest., Fisher didn’t do much to get the hopes of fans up, as he sounded doubtful that a Cyborg solo film is still happening,

“I don’t know. I can’t comment on that specifically, because they don’t tell me anything until the very last minute. There’s a ton of people making those kind of decisions behind the scenes. And it would be a very, very costly movie to make because it is so CGI heavy with Cyborg, because I’m the only member of the League that’s not in a practical costume. You’re going to be looking at $200 million just to make it. So it’s one of those things you have to take into consideration. It’s a numbers game for some people at the end of the day.”

Fisher added:

“If we keep making noise, it can happen. It’s about what the people want. And that’s what people understand, that’s what they recognize,”

I like Fisher in the role, and thought he did a good job in Justice League, but it’s hard to tell what is going on over at DC. What we do know is that the studios upcoming slate includes Aquaman, and not long after that will be Shazam! Judging from the trailers, Aquaman is shaping up to be a solid enough entry into DC’s extended universe, and frankly, Shazam! looks like it is going to be awesome. The success or failure of these movies are sure to have some kind of influence on whether or not the Cyborg film gets made.
