Replicas Trailer: New Keanu Reeves Sci-Fi Thriller Makes Cloning Personal

Along with the hopeful news of progress on a third Bill and Ted film, comes the first trailer for Keanu Reeves’ new sci-fi film Replicas. The trailer was shown yesterday at New York Comic-Con.

The film stars Keanu Reeves, with Alice Eve playing the wife of Reeves’ Will Foster, along with Thomas Middleditch. The film’s screenplay was written by Chad St. John from a story by Stephen Hamel and directed by Jeffrey Nachmanoff.

Below is the synopsis for Replicas:

“In this sci-fi thriller, neuro-scientist William Foster (Keanu Reeves) is on the verge of successfully transferring human consciousness into a computer when his family is tragically killed in a car crash. Desperate to resurrect them, William recruits fellow scientist Ed Whittle (Thomas Middleditch) to help him secretly clone their bodies and create replicas. But he soon faces a ‘Sophie’s Choice’ when it turns out that they can only bring three of the four family members back to life.”

Replicas has a very interesting premise and it absolutely has my attention. I am always down for sci-fi thrillers and for Keanu Reeves. It appears as if the movie will be a case of just because you can do something, doesn’t always mean you should.
