Riverdale Spinoff Sabrina The Teenage Witch Gets 2-Season Order…At Netflix?

In news that’s coming out of nowhere, it looks like The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina — a series that is set to follow Sabrina the Teenage Witch, a character that was set to premiere on The CW’s Riverdale — has now found a home on Netflix. According to THR, the streaming service has ordered two 10-episode seasons of the drama series.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is a series based on the Archie Comics character that has been in development at The CW for some time, and for some reason or another, it’s now been moved over to Netflix. Perhaps it had to do with the fact that Netflix is responsible for the 60 percent boost that its second season enjoyed.

“Probably more people watched it on Netflix thinking it was a Netflix show,” The CW executive vp marketing and digital Rick Haskins told the outlet earlier this year. “Our real challenge was taking those viewers and moving them over to The CW.”

These 10-episodes will shoot back-to-back, with the first season shooting February to June, and the second season from June to October.

Despite moving to Netflix, it sounds like this show is still set to exist in the same universe created by Riverdale. We have to wonder what the collaboration will be like (if any) between The CW and Netflix.

What do you think of Sabrina moving over to Netflix? Is this a good move for Greg Berlanti and co.? Let us know your thoughts down below!
