Rocky & Bullwinkle & Kung Fu Panda Series Headed To Amazon

Amazon Prime has been sort of the Netflix lite of streaming services for years now. However, in recent years, they’ve worked extra hard to lock down original content. They are throwing down a reported $1 billion or so to bring Lord of the Rings to the small screen, and if all signs are pointing the right way, they are also likely going to pick up the Dark Tower series.

That certainly seems to be putting them in a comfortable position the live-action front, but what about the animated front? They’ve enjoyed some success with originals like Niko and the Sword of Light, but about bringing in some already-branded original content?

Deadline is reporting that The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle are returning in animated form, and that Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny will be joining it on Amazon Prime. Rocky & Bullwinkle is set to go live in many countries on May 11, and Kung Fu Panda will hit later this year.

Below is the official synopsis for The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle:

“The world-famous talking moose and flying squirrel are back in The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle, a comedy about two goofball friends who end up in harrowing situations but end up saving the day time and again. As their silly ambitions dovetail with Fearless Leader’s sinister plans to take over the world, they are set on a collision course with his notorious super spies Boris and Natasha.”
