Ron Cephas Jones Joins Sony’s Venom

Through The Hollywood Reporter we have learned that Netflix’s Luke Cage star Ron Cephas Jones has joined the cast of Sony’s Venom starring Tom hardy and Riz Ahmed. But for now there is no information on who is his character and how big his role is in the film. Being that the film hits theaters in October we won’t have to wait long.

This will be Jones’ second Marvel project, the first of course being Luke Cage where he played the character Bobby Fish. We know that he had also been eyed for the role of the wizard Shazam for the upcoming Shazam! film, but was unable to take the role due to a scheduling conflict. Jones’ recently picked up his second Emmy nomination for the NBC drama, This is Us. He can also be seen in Ken Marino’s film Dog Days starring opposite Vanessa Hudgens and Nina Dobrev. He is set to appear in Eddie Murphy’s Netflix feature Dolemite Is My Name!

Sony’s Venom directed by Ruben Fleischer and starring Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed will hit theaters October 5th, 2018.
