Rosario Dawson Joins Zombieland 2

We’ve been waiting for a new Zombieland film for a good number of years, and now, around 10 years later, it finally appears to be happening. And by “appears to be,” I pretty much mean it’s definitely going to happen, because the movie is officially filming in Atlanta. For the sequel, the original cast, which consists of Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin, are all set to return, and they’re not alone.

Deadline is reporting that actress Rosario Dawson is joining the main cast in the flick along with newcomers Zoey Deutch and Avan Jogia. If you somehow missed the fun ride that was the original Zombieland, I highly suggest you remedy that situation ASAP. The flick was a clever play on the genre back in 2009, and its irreverent tone is fittingly the result of Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Of course, with the sequel, both Reese and Wernick have returned as scribes on the movie, and also returning is director Ruben Fleischer, who is hot off his success of Venom.

There is no word yet on what Dawson’s role will be in the film, but given her talent, she’s a worthy addition to the cause. Zombieland is slated to hit theaters this coming October 11. Will you be there on day one? Let me know down below!
