Now that Game of Thrones has finished the host of successful actors working on the show are looking for new roles. We also have the MCU moving into a new era without Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson and maybe one or two others, so could there be some poaching of Thrones stars for the MCU?
That’s a definite possibility and as far as rumors go, everyone seems to think that Richard Madden, who hasn’t been in Game of Thrones for some time to be fair, has already signed on for Marvel’s The Eternals. However, we now have a new rumored Game of Thrones to Marvel switch to let you know about.
According to Nerdbot Marvel are looking at Nathalie Emmanuel for the MCU version of Storm. Emmanuel played Missandei in Game of Thrones and you can catch her image in the thumbnail above from the show. Now, normally I would dismiss this rumor out of hand for one sole reason, the fact that X-Men are more than likely not going to appear for at least five years according to Kevin Feige. Let’s face it, if anyone knows, it’s Feige, so I’d automatically deduce there could be no way Marvel would be casting for X-Men currently.
However, the report from the outlet says that Marvel is looking to introduce Storm not in an X-Men film, but in Black Panther 2. Now, the difference here is that Black Panther 2 we are expecting to be announced as one of the movies released in 2021 or 2022. So casting for roles as important as Storm would absolutely be possible right now. I also think story wise that this would actually be an extremely cool way to introduce this character into the MCU and tease a future with X-Men involved.

That still doesn’t mean this rumor is valid and I have only seen this reported from one source so far whom I am not familiar with in terms of scoop history. Therefore you will have to judge your acceptance of this rumor for yourself. What I will say, is that even if it’s not true, it’s a damn good idea someone had for how to introduce Storm way before the other X-Men and I think Emmanuel would be a great choice for the role.
