RUMOR: Marvel Studios Developed A Dark Avengers Script?

With Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe coming to an end, you know that Marvel Studios will need to start taking things in a different direction. Things have been pretty great thus far, but Kevin Feige and co. have always been cognizant about staying ahead of the curve in terms of audience tastes. That’s whey they’ve made a point to make the films range in genre, and it’s why they’ve taken risks on D-list characters.

Now, it looks like they’re ready to make some big changes going forward. It’s with this in mind that it’s not so surprising that they’ve apparently commissioned a Dark Avengers script. That’s right. According to That Hashtag Show, it has not only been developed, but it’s been completed.

It’s worth mentioning though that even though they do have a completed script for the film doesn’t mean this’ll ever see the light of day any time soon or ever at all. They are developing dozens of properties at a time, and it’s a matter of them either finding a place for the story in the narrative and getting it to a certain quality to where they think it’ll be worth producing. In short, they’re throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks.

The outlet doesn’t know what the prospect for the film is or if the script is any good. All they know is that there is a completed draft.

Interestingly enough, the Dark Avengers are introduced in the comics following Secret Invasion. The events have led the public to distrust the Avengers, and as a result, Norman Osborn is put in charge of arranging his own team, and he does so with villains taking on the roles of heroes like Spider-Man and Captain Marvel.

While we obviously have no idea how things will go just yet, the MCU will be introducing the Skrulls, and if they follow through with the Skrull invasion, this could lead them into actually have a Dark Avengers storyline as they did in the comics, which is kind of cool. But, of course, the MCU is drastically different from the comics, so this can shake out in countless ways.
