Rumor: Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker To Feature The Return Of [SPOILER]

I guess it’s time for another rumor around Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, and this one is a bit juicy folks, so obligatory SPOILER warning for the article ahead. If you don’t want to know anything, then best check out one of our other stories.

.

This latest rumor again comes courtesy of MSW, who is having a decent hit rate so far with The Rise of Skywalker. So far we have no real reason to doubt the actual leaks coming to them are actually genuine given that hit rate thus far.

The key piece of news here is that MSW claims their sources are confirming the return of Han Solo in this movie. Now, they don’t necessarily mean a resurrected Han Solo in flesh and blood, but they describe a key scene for Kylo Ren where Han Solo (his father) actually shows up, perhaps in the form of a vision. Here are the key notes directly from the outlet.

The main sequence takes place between Adam Driver and Harrison Ford or Kylo Ren and Han Solo.

One source called it a surprise intervention of sorts.

A source that did not work on or see the sequence believed it takes place when Kylo Ren asks the burned Darth Vader helmet to show him the darkness again.

Luke Skywalker appears to be the twist in the encounter.

The source was paraphrasing but Han Solo tells Ben Solo it isn’t too late and the sequence has a tone of forgiveness and understanding to it.

He’s not a “force ghost” in the classic sense and he’s part of a “vision” or “dream” type moment induced by Luke Skywalker.

Now, they do say that this information comes from several sources, which makes it hard to confirm the actual details listed above. However, with several sources talking about the return of Han Solo, it does seem as if the fan favorite may be making some kind of return in this movie.

I’d go even further and say for me, this confirms they are going down a redemption arc for Ben Solo. For me, that feels a bit too close to the plot of the OT and whilst we have to see the how and why I feel like that’s a total reversal of the choice made by Ben Solo in The Last Jedi. I suspected this would be the case when we found out that Emperor Palpatine was returning. Generally, to have a redemption arc for the main bad guy, you need a new bad guy to be even worse, which, of course, is why the Emperor was brought into Return of the Jedi.

I guess we shall have to wait and judge the film on its own merits, but I’m expecting a bit of a rehash of Jedi at this point.

What do you think of this rumor, is this sounding great to you or not? Sound off in the usual place below, but remember you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy, so be cautious.
